APPLICATION DEADLINE REMINDER
Media MENTORSHIP for Women
Round 2 Applications end: 6th February 2009
Applications for Mentorship Round 2 open! If you are interested in applying please download the Guidelines and Application form from our website - www.nsw.wift.org/MENTOR.
The Media Mentorship for Women (MMW) program will establish mentor relationships between industry professionals and women who are seeking to further their careers in key technical areas such as Cinematography, Editing, Sound Design, Music Composition, Directing, Script Writing, Animation, Location Management, Media Law, Interactive Media and other areas in which women are consistently under represented.
All applicants will be invited to attend free workshops and forums and will have free access to our online forum called i-Mentoring and Podcasts of our Sydney events.
UPCOMING EVENTS: These events are FREE for all MMW Applicants.
- MEDIA LAW Talk by Sonia Borella and Cathy Hoyle at Holding Redlich (6-8pm, 21 January 2009)
- SCRIPTWRITING Workshop with Karel Segers at the Rex Centre (21 February 2009)
- CINEMATOGRAPHY Workshop with Piet De Vries at Getting Creative (14 March 2009)

You'll have a unique opportunity to hear from Pixar's first woman Director, Brenda Chapman, and long time Producer Darla Anderson (A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc., Cars, & the upcoming Toy Story 3) and other accomplished women Producers, Artists and Technical Directors.

The 2009 Berlin International Film Festival is coming up and before you mingle with all the stars and movie moguls, we'd like to invite you to our WIFTG Brunch Meeting on Saturday, February 7th - from 10am to 1pm. It's a great chance to do some networking!
Our panel discussion and business "speed dating" will take place at the German Film Academy Cafe, (dffb), which is on the 9th floor of the Sony Centre, on Potsdamer Strasse 2, in Berlin's central Mitte district. It's right on top of the Film Museum at the Sony Centre, you can't miss it! Of course, your friends and colleagues are more than welcome to attend - the more the merrier!
