In conjunction with ACMI’s current exhibition Setting the Scene, Women in Film and Television (WIFT) is presenting a forum and demonstration afternoon to celebrate the role of the art department in Australian film and television production. The forum will address the role of the designer and the art department in live screen production and speakers will include leading production designers, art directors, props persons, costume and make-up crew.
As well as the speaker forum, there will be demonstrations, displays and information available about the various support areas of an art department, including props, set construction, set finishing, scenic art, art direction, costume and make-up. Working professionals will be on hand to talk to participants and demonstrate methods and techniques and there will also be a range of design drawings, props, set dressings, costumes, and make-up prosthetics on display.
This event is open to all members of the public, especially those with an interest in film and television production design, costume or make-up.
A ticket to the event will entitle you to free entry to the Setting the Scene exhibition.
